Beaded socks were an absolute money saver for years because they were always going to gift to any baby shower. thirteen years later and they still take about thirty minutes to make, yet they’re an ongoing gift that never seems to run out of supply! And that’s because they’re versatile, comfortable and just plain fun to wear. No wonder women everywhere love them!

To make beaded socks you will need: three colors of worsted weight cotton yarn, a hook, a pair of scissors and some beaded sock threads. What you need to do is choose the color of yarn that is the most contrasting for your skin tone, and then cast on two stitches, (symmetrical) into the first stitch. You then have an inch of chain stitch around your entire foot, this is the chain stitch. Next you will need to work two stitches, (two stitches, single chain stitch) into the second stitch, then single chain stitch into the third stitch. Now, your completed sock measures about three inches long, and can be worn as a footwear or used as a beautiful decorative accent sock.

Now for the fun part, you crochet! First, you must learn how to cast on, chain stitch and crochet the socks together, this can be done quite easily with a little help from a kit or ebook. When crocheting with beads, it is important to always start with a whole string of beads before working on the next one. Also remember to always work from the back, so your finished product will have a nice serene finished look.
